Student Technology Center

Overview

The Student Technology Center is an open-computing center for Del Mar College students who have a Del Mar College student ID with the current semester's validation sticker and have signed the Automation Acceptable Use Policy (AUP).

Hours

Staff Assistance

Staff members and student workers are available to assist and to troubleshoot with any hardware or software problems. They are not tutors and are not able to assist with homework projects.

Use Limits

To better serve patrons, computer use during peak times, may be limited to (2) hours.

Virus Prevention

To protect STC equipment, all removable storage will be checked for viruses. This includes: diskettes, zip disks, and thumb drives or flash drives. Other external drives are not allowed.

Software Limitations

Only software owned by Del Mar College and installed by library staff may be used in ther STC. Click to see list of supported software.

Floppy Diskettes --- 50 cents each

CD-R disks --- 50 cents each

Printing

Only STC approved paper or print media may be used in the printers. Always ask for assistance when using transparencies or other special media. Printing with special media or equipment may have an extra charge. For information ask at the circulation desk.

There is no charge for black and white laser printing, but printing is limited to 50 sheets per visit.

Color prints are available at no charge for the first 5 sheets and 50 cents per sheet for each additional sheet.

Large format prints from the HP DesignJet 1055cm are 50 cents per square foot ($3.00 for 24" X 36")
