We can support you through challenging times and help you achieve balance.
The Counseling Center provides free and confidential individual counseling, couples counseling, crisis intervention, and walk-in mental health services.

About Us and Our Services
In counseling, we work together to help students develop more personal awareness and the skills needed to overcome barriers to success. We also help students grow and develop in ways that allow them to take advantage of the educational opportunities at the college. We are also available to provide consultation to faculty and staff who are concerned about the well-being and academic success of Del Mar College students. All services are free and confidential.

TAO - Therapy Assistance Online
The Counseling Center now offers self-help for mental and emotional well-being via TAO Connect.
Anyone with a Del Mar College email account may log in and use a slate of resiliency-strengthening and wellness-enhancement tools.
TAO Connect may be accessed online or via the app. You can use TAO to help change thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a positive direction.
SHOULD YOU MEET WITH A COUNSELOR OR ADVISOR?
Counselors
Counselors are available to meet with students by appointment. However, some concerns may be addressed on a walk-in basis. Counselors are at least master's level professionals who are trained to provide personal counseling services. Students often seek counseling services for the following reasons:
- Academic Adjustment/Concerns
- Strategies for Handling Anxiety, Stress, or Depression
- Relationship Troubles
- Transitions in Life
- Identity Exploration
- Eating Concerns
- Feeling Overwhelmed
Advisors
Academic advisors are available on a walk-in basis. Advisors provide a full array of services ranging from college admissions to financial aid, and advising and registration. Students may wish to see an advisor to discuss topics such as:
- Degree planning
- Transfer planning
- Information about programs offered at Del Mar College
- Assistance with course selection
- Schedule changes and withdrawals
- Graduation requirements
- College placement tests
