Welcome to the Del Mar College Environmental Health and Safety website. This site was created to assist the Del Mar College community – students, faculty, staff, parents and visitors – with security and safety information while on campus or involved in school related events.

Environmental Health & Safety oversees, advises and assists the College in complying with local, state and federal regulations in the following areas:  security, environmental compliance, occupational safety, fire and life safety, public health, and ADA accessibility.

  • Safety Issues

    Fire alarm or evacuations

In the event of a fire alarm or evacuation, please take your personal items with you if possible. By doing so, you cut down opportunities for theft and ensure that you won't need to return to the building to retrieve items from an unsafe environment.

    Parking

Our bike officers routinely perform checks on people who stay in their vehicles for periods of time. This procedure is conducted for safety purposes.

Do not park in red fire zones because this blocks emergency vehicle access to certain buildings.

We remind individuals to be considerate and not park on handicap spaces. These spaces are reserved for our physically disadvantaged students who need easy access to buildings.

  • Emergency Operations Plan (Employee Access Only)

The Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) serves as a guide for Emergency Management procedures for the Del Mar College community.

The EOP is available through employee access only via DMC SharePoint.

  • Employee Accident/Injury/Illness Form (Employee Access Only)

This form must be completed, signed and returned to the Human Resources Office within 24 hours of the incident.

This form is available through employee access only via DMC SharePoint.
