Facilities and Equipment

The Del Mar College Diesel Applied Technology program has two labs (one which is new) and two classrooms. We also have state of the art engines and equipment in our labs which include:

• 30 mechanical engines
• 20 Electronic engines, which include Caterpillar, Detroit and Cummins.
• Two 07 Cummins engines with aftertreament.
• Heavy-duty mechanical transmissions and Auto-shift transmission.
• Two Class 8 trucks with Caterpillar and Detroit electronic engines.
• Hundreds of individual components.
• Five laptops that are used in the shop loaded with the latest diagnostic software.
• Fuel pump lab with Cummins Hartridge stand.

Other specialty equipment to enhance instruction are: Air Brake board, Hydraulic Trainer, Trailer ABS Trainer, Detroit Diesel Electronic Trainer and Electrical training boards.
