Printing at DMC Libraries

Del Mar College Libraries provides free printing services to all currently enrolled students. To promote responsible printing and reduce waste, the Libraries have introduced Viking Print, a print management system that encourages students to print only what is needed for academic purposes.

Viking Print Rates & Locations

  • Viking Print Rates

    At the start of each semester, DMC students are credited with $5.00 in non-refundable Viking Print credits, which can be used for both black & white and color printing. Students are allowed 50 color single-sided pages per semester.

    COSTS PER PAGE

    • Black & White (single-sided): $0.01 per page
    • Color (single-sided): $0.10 per page 

    Please note: Unused Viking Print credits do not carry over to the next semester.

    IMPORTANT: Viking Print credits are not actual money and can only be used for printing purposes.

Tips to reduce printing

  • Helpful Tips

    • When printing from the web, select the text you need and choose the “Print Selection” option.
    • Skip printing drafts unless they are necessary for major revisions.
    • Always preview documents to catch any mistakes before printing.
    • Use smaller fonts when possible to save space.
    • Print multiple pages on a single sheet of paper.
    • For PowerPoint presentations, print 3, 4, or 6 slides per page in black and white, without backgrounds.

  • How do I start a Viking Print account?

    All currently enrolled DMC students automatically receive an account. Simply log in with your DMC credentials.

  • How do I check my Viking Print balance?

  • How Do I request additional Viking Print Money if I exhaust all my free money?

    Students can request additional Viking Print credits by completing our online form.

    Once the printing balance is depleted or falls to $0.50, students may request more credits. If the remaining balance is greater than $0.50, refill requests will not be processed.

    Refills are provided in $2.00 increments, with a limit of one request per day. Please allow 1-3 business days for processing. Requests submitted after 6:00 pm will be handled the next business day.

    Note: The print refill process and policies are subject to change.
